♫ School’s…OUT…for – SUMMER! ♫  Every year I sing that Alice Cooper song in my head for like 3 days after the last day of school.  But that’s the only line of the song I know so it gets pretty old, pretty fast. It’s officially DAY 1 of summer vacation…..and the Things and I are spending the […]

Summer Vacation.2 words every kid longs to hear, right? Not my kids. They’ve always been those freaky super-students who love school and cry on the last day. It’s only since Thing 1 has been in high school (and the homework load has gotten intense) that she’s finally come over to the dark side and joined the […]

  • bonbon - Just found your blog and love this post. I teach school so I understand the whole “end of the year blues” things. I think school more than anything shows us the passage of time, and so it’s scary when another year has already come to an end. It sounds like you’re a very supportive and understanding mom, though, so they definitely are lucky for that!

As I’ve been navigating the surprisingly deep waters of the blogging world, I’ve discovered many trends and tricks to lure readers over to your blog.  Link parties, sponsoring and (my favorite), guest posting. I’ve become a follower and a fan of many blogs that I only discovered by reading their guest post on one of […]

Friday afternoon I lost my right hand. Our Internet went out.For the past 2 and a half days it’s like I’ve been living in Little House on the Prairie but without the benefit of a Pa playing jaunty tunes on the fiddle and singing me to sleep. I’ve also come to the realization that I’d never […]

  • Kelly { MessyDirtyHair } - I would be the same way! When our power goes out I freak! But yet sometimes it’s nice to be free of everythingReplyCancel

  • Millie - I’m a new follower and from what I can tell, you named your iPad, which makes me love you already. I have a MacBook, which I named “MacKenzie.” I name all of my electronics and love that you do, too. That is all :)ReplyCancel

I’d like to start out this week’s favorites by saying that 4 day weeks are my favorite. The End. Nah, but it’s true that as I sit here with a nice chilled glass of chardonnay by my side I can’t believe it’s time for another favorites list already because I actually had 2 – yes, […]

Time to slow it down and put on my serious face for a moment (but only for a moment, I promise). Since I’ve been a kid I’ve always loved to write.   When I was a teacher (back in the day), teaching those kids how to write was always my favorite part of their 4th […]

So I realized at 8:25 (in the middle of dinner – grilled chicken, homemade bruschetta, salad, corn on the cob for me and Husband, Nutellla and strawberry crepes for the Things) that I hadn’t set The Bachelorette on a season pass and so we unfortunately missed Ryan the football player’s one on one date. And now […]

  • Lucy McCracken - I’m so glad to hear I’m not the only onethat found last night’s episode vey dull. I totally agree about Ricki. I was thinkikng the same thing. Reg Emily who talks like that? She always speaks in the same soft monotone voive. It’s a bit creepy. I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to stand watching this season. If I hear her say one more time “Ricki and I” I will scream. Isn’t she her own person? anywho I really like your blog and I’m your new follower :) http://www.findyoursparkle2.comReplyCancel

  • Lucy McCracken - BTW we should swap buttons. What do you think?ReplyCancel

Had a fast, fun and whirlwind weekend in Arizona at my nephew’s wedding last week and now I cannot believe it’s already Friday.I’m still tired. The 2 hour time difference between Phoenix and Minneapolis has given me lasting jet-lag.But I can’t nap now – there’s way too much to do!  It’s May in Minnesota! Break out […]

  • Rachael - Cute post and love your blog! Girl, I love a good spray tan.. they are the best! I have fair skin as well and am on a first name basis with my dermo as well. I get about 2-3 freckles removed a year to make sure they’re not cancerous. Oh the joys of fair skin. I just found a self tanner that you can get at the drugstore that I really love.. it’s Loreal Sublime Bronze. You do have to be careful b/c it can be a little streaky so what I do is apply it and then take an old towel and rub it into my skin in a circular motion. Let me know what you think if you try it! And if you get some time today, check out my Fab Friday Beauty Tip. Happy Friday!

  • Michelle - I do like Loreal Sublime Bronze (I mentioned it in this post http://www.youremyfavoritetoday.blogspot.com/2012/03/weekly-favorites-2.html)
but it’s a little bit sparkly. I’m not a big fan of the Cullen look. 😡
So how do you solve the foot problem when you spray tan??
Thanks for reading ~ and I will definitely check out your blog!! :)ReplyCancel
