Friday Favorites: Can’t Stop the Feeling

It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday…

Damn song.
This morning Thing 2 gave me that fun little ear worm and for the past hour and a half it’s been EATING AWAY AT MY BRAIN.

Partyin’, partyin’, yeah!
Partyin’, partyin’, yeah!

It’s okay.
I’ll get her back later by singing “It’s a Small World” … once.

It’s been awhile since I’ve given you a good, old fashioned list of Friday Favorites, or what I like to think of it as, Michelle’s Must List.

Since it’s a cold and rainy Friday morning here, and since my uterus is currently under attack, I’ve crawled back into bed with my laptop, heating pad, and one furry, purry cat.

I plan to stay here until one of the following happens:
•The cat vomits on me (which I’d love to tell you is a long shot, but sadly it is not)
•The Advil wears off
•The mega mug of coffee I already drank this morning works its way through the pipes
•I crab walk downstairs to rip the pantry apart looking for chocolate
•I have to pick Thing 2 up from rehearsal … in eight and a half hours.

I’d bet on that last one.
Easy money.

But before I fire up the Netflix and curl myself around my heating pad, let’s check out some of the things that have made my week.

YMFT Friday Favorites

Speaking of ear worms, the first item on the list is one I’ve gladly had stuck in my head all week. If you’re one of the handful who haven’t yet heard “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” JT’s fun new song from the upcoming Dreamworks animated movie Trolls, listen to it now. Better yet, watch this video featuring people who lend their voices to the movie while you listen. I promise you it’ll make you dance.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake have been owning The Cannes Film Festival this week as they’ve been promoting the Trolls movie (which, spoiler alert, is sure to make this list in the near future) –

PicMonkey Collage

I adore these two together, especially after seeing this, the next thing on my Must List –

Seriously, can Anna and Garfunkel just put out an album already?

While we’re on the subject of powerhouse duos, check this next favorite out. Last week Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reunited to sing “For Good,” one of my very favorite songs (and scenes) in “Wicked.”
If you can watch this without crying YOU HAVE NO SOUL.

Last week I was driving home from Madison, Wisconsin by myself, which typically means five hours of me singing to Whitney Houston or Britney Spears at the top of my lungs without apologies. However, this trip I decided to switch things up and listened to Daniel Tosh’s new comedy album, “People Pleaser” (click that link to watch, although I listened via Spotify) and you guys, it’s a miracle I didn’t drive off the road into a cow pasture.
I was crying with laughter.
If you’re not familiar with Tosh, you should know that his comedy is highly inappropriate (in the very best way), entirely politically incorrect, and more than a little shocking, but it’s truth.
Every bit of it is truth.
And as he says, if you can’t find funny in horrible situations, then just go away. There’s no place for you here.

I started reading this book a few days ago, and I’m already hooked. I’m not far enough into it to give you any real review, but with a front cover rec from Amy Poehler, let’s just say I’m confident its place on the list is justified. I bought a hardcover copy at Costco for around $15, but you can find it on Amazon here.

Cuccio Lemongrass and Lavender Body Butter

I am obsessed with this body butter.

I keep it on my nightstand and use it every night before bed.
It’s thick and creamy and smells heavenly.
You can get it from, and you should, quickly. I may buy them out of their entire stock soon so I don’t ever run out.

Lastly, and because my uterus is about to force me to shuffle down to the kitchen to grab a bowl, is this –

Costco now sells bags of just the Popcornopolis Zebra caramel corn with chocolate drizzle that you used to only be able to buy in those good-for-nothing cones.
I swear, sometimes it’s like Costco just gets me.

Oh, and speaking of favorites, I was all over and the EW Community this week blabbing about some of my favorite shows:
My Veep recap
•A react on the season–and sadly, the series–finale of Grandfathered
•and A list of Top TV Graduation episodes

I was also hanging out at Grown & Flown (one of my favorite spots), sharing this list of questions and illogical but truthful answers about high school graduation. Check it out!

That’ll do it for me today.
The rain has let up a bit and thankfully, so has the war raging inside me.
Except for this:
Partyin’, partyin’, yeah!
Partyin’, partyin’, yeah!
